VentMist exists for one reason. The air inside your home shapes how you sleep, breathe, and feel far more than most people realize, and clear guidance about it is surprisingly hard to find.
Why we started VentMist
Walk into most homes and you will spot a humidifier bought in a panic during a dry January, a bathroom fan that may or may not vent outside, and a quiet worry about mold in the basement. The advice online tends to be either a thin product list or a wall of engineering jargon. Neither helps a regular homeowner decide with confidence.
We built VentMist to sit in between. We cover both sides of the indoor air equation, adding moisture when the air is too dry and pulling it out when there is too much, plus the ventilation and filtration that hold it all together.
What we cover
Our work is organized into six focused areas: humidifiers, home ventilation, dehumidifiers and damp control, indoor air quality, humidity and comfort, and practical buying and setup guides. Together they answer the questions people genuinely ask, from “what humidity should my bedroom be” to “do I need an HRV or an ERV”.
How we work
Every guide starts with your real situation, not a product we want to move. We do not run pay-to-play rankings, and we do not publish sponsored articles dressed up as advice. When we cite a number, a price, or a setting, it is there to help you choose, not to fill space.
- Plain language first. If a term needs explaining, we explain it once and keep moving.
- Grounded in real use. Recommendations lean on hands-on field experience and on trusted references such as the EPA and the US Department of Energy.
- Updated when needed. Homes, building codes, and products change, so we revisit guides and correct them when a reader flags something.
What we solve
Most air problems in a home come down to a few fixable things: humidity that drifts too high or too low, stale air with nowhere to go, and units or filters that never get cleaned. Our job is to help you find which one you are facing and take the smallest step that works, before you spend on gear you may not need.
